About ValHacks

ValHacks is a student-run 8-h hackathon, powered by BEST Copenhagen. We are an international student organization with the mission to empower students by providing them with complementary education, activities and international exchange. ValHacks is organized by the members of BEST Copenhagen present at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and aims to bring Universities, Students and Companies closer together in a relaxed and creative atmosphere with a lot of food, drinks and software.

Flow of ValHacks

Get ready to dive into a 1-day coding marathon with Valhacks, hosted by the student organization BEST!

On Saturday 8th of June, join us at SkyLab (DTU Lyngby) from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Take part on an exhilarating hackaton where you will have the chance to network with local IT companies offering exclusive recruitment opportunities.

Make up a team of 3-4 coders or get assigned to one and tackle a coding challenge presented by our main partner, Moonboon. You will be given a challenge. How to solve it and which technology you use is up to you. After 8 hours, the teams that come up with the best 3 solutions will win a fantastic prize!

“What’s the challenge”, you ask? Well, it’s a secret! Our partner gives just one clue: you are advised to come equipped with:

  • Your preferred Audio processing library(Torch Audio recommended)
    • We also recommend a method to compress the audio
  • Your preferred machine learning library
    • A limited amount of training data will be provided, <5%

Lunch, dinner, and snacks are provided— just bring yourself, your computer, and your best coding skills!
