European BEST Engineering Competition 2014!
Do you want to test your engineering knowledge and skills in an engineering competition in collaboration with Maersk or Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen (MDCC)?
On the 4th and 5th of March BEST Copenhagen will organise the local round of the European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) in cooperation with Maersk Oil & Gas, and MDCC at DTU. MDCC will provide a team design competition on Thursday the 4th, while Mærsk Oil & Gas will provide a case study on Friday the 5th.
The BEST engineering competition is an opportunity for students to challenge themselves with real world engineering tasks, competing with fellow students in solving challenges designed by companies. This year the tasks will be designed by MDCC and Maersk Oil & Gas, both challenges promising great prizes for the best solutions, as well as chances to talk to your possible future employers. Last year’s prizes included iPads, Xboxes and tickets to TEDx-events, and this year the prizes will be alike or greater. In each category, 8 teams of 4 members will compete against each other using their knowledge, creativity and teamwork skills. You can either apply as a team of four people, or apply with 1-3 people. In the latter case the organizers will put you in a team.
The BEST engineering competition is a part of a European competition. All over Europe 80 local EBEC competitions are held this year, along with 13 regional finals. The winners of the competition here at DTU will qualify for the EBEC Nordic, which is held here at DTU in April/May this year, where the teams will compete against other teams from Scandinavia. The winners of this competition will qualify for the EBEC final, which takes place in Riga, Latvia this summer. Here all the winners of the regional finals will compete against each other. Other than competing in an international environment, the EBEC final competitions also collaborates with big companies like the local competition does.
If this sounds interesting and challenging apply before the 24th of February. Don’t let this opportunity slip away, write a good motivational letter and we might choose you and your team to participate in the event!
